असम राइफल्स भारतीय सेना की सबसे पुरानी शाखा है, जो 1835 में ब्रिटिश राज के तहत कछार लेवी नाम से स्थापित की गई थी। "असम राइफल्स" के वर्तमान नाम का उपयोग 1917 से किया जा रहा है।
